Heaven Has Cityscapes Larger Than New York

Alex describes the cities in heaven to be much larger than New York, and with beautiful skylines (p.212). Heaven will seem like a very populous place.

I've talked a lot about how many things we have here on earth are types or replicas of similar design in heaven. Alex, similar to several other testimonies, talks of heaven having many similar features of earth. There are mountainscapes with snow (like the Canadian Rockies), lakes (not quite like ours), rivers, trees, and fields of grass. It is like earth, but the new improved version, but the details are perfect. There are still sunsets. There's more colors and they are brighter (pp.66-67).

The Spiritual Appearance of Satan

According to Alex, a 6 year old boy who went to heaven after a car accident with his dad, was in a coma for seven weeks, and who came back, Satan is like this:
He has three heads with fire for hair. He has red eyes with flames for pupils. All three heads speak lies at the same time. His nose is torn up. He spoke to Alex in English. His voice sounded like a witch, but changed sounds. His mouth is funny with moldy teeth. His body is human, but with 2 skinny arms and 2 skinny legs. He has no flesh on his body, only some moldy stuff along with similar robes. He always appeared the same to Alex. When Alex was in his car accident, Satan arrived to tell him the lie that the accident was his fault. He looked evil and scary. (Paraphrased from pp.170-171)
Alex sees the arrival of both angels and demons. He prays this prayer to send demons away:
Devil or demons, in Jesus' name, leave my room or leave this house. By the blood of Jesus, I command you to go. Leave me alone.
Alex's father comes to pray with him when he hears fear in his son's voice. At one point, he prayed with his son for one hour.

When there is excitement going on in Alex's life, the spiritual activity increases (p. 169).
A few bible verses support the activity of angels in our lives (p.168):
Psalm 91:11
Matthew 18:10
Daniel 6: 21-22
Acts 12: 15
For the prayer and spiritual warfare response to the devil and demons (pp.170-171):
Luke 10:19
1 John 4:4
Several testimonies of those who had visions or near death experiences encountered Satan. I do not recall them describing his appearance. They did have descriptions of demons. The descriptions of demons Alex gives in this book have comparable features to those in other testimonies. If you are interested, that is found on page 171. The ones Alex saw are deprived of healthy flesh and blood and a complete body, which is the benefit of having Christ.

The issue I see of people with unconfessed sin or sin strongholds in their hearts is that these visitors could then sway their thoughts with unkind statements coming into their mind. Such thoughts could be hateful things towards other people, or be suggestions to do unkind or immoral things, or judgements of others, or be mean things to say to one's spirit. This includes a whole lot of repeating to a person what former bullies have said to them. This is because Satan and his demons are the spirit of the bully. That's why we might hear negative spiritual chatter coming at us with lies about ourselves and our ability to succeed in our moral and ethical walk.

As a Christian, we need to be able to filter which thoughts coming to us which are of negative spiritual origin.
The fact that we are getting negative spiritual thoughts may be an indicators to us to:
  • Confess our sin.
  • Do a self-assessment of strongholds or repeated sins we let go.
  • If that does not stop it, go through a sin survey as is available in the Neil T.  Anderson books and resources to just acknowledge our sin and ask forgiveness.
  • The next step is to read the bible, memorize a few key scripture, and then rebuke further thoughts and address spiritual attacks or visits to lie to us with Alex's response above.
  • A daily washing of sins is included in the Lord's Prayer. The key is believing in the words, and not just saying them. When we say them as a believer, they do all that is necessary for our daily cleansing from sin.
  • If you have not yet invited Jesus to be your saviour, and asked him into your heart. Say, "Jesus, I'm yours." Then, continue with the strategies above.
As soon as we mouth the words of confession, we are forgiven and placed back into right relationship to God.

For parents who have children who have thoughts which are constantly negative toward themselves, or whose thought activity is troubling, consider praying for them, and assisting them in confessing sin or in accepting the Lord, and in the prayer above shown by Alex. If children are having a bad day, pray the Lord's prayer with them. It can't hurt. There should be a lessening of their negative emotional condition. As well, parents can always pray over their home.

Extension Study: Daniel 7-12 Biblegateway.com

In the scripture, please note the strong use of 7s with relation to God. I am sort of interested in that. I've nothing to conclude, except that when I see 7s in life, I pay attention. Alex was in his coma 7 weeks.

Jesus Will Sing Songs Celebrating You

Jesus will sing over his bride. See verse 17 which says this and then what follows is Jesus' song for his bride:

New Living Translation (NLT) Bold mine

Zephaniah 3

   New Living Translation (NLT)
   Jerusalem’s Rebellion and Redemption
What sorrow awaits rebellious, polluted Jerusalem,
the city of violence and crime!
No one can tell it anything;
    it refuses all correction.
It does not trust in the Lord
or draw near to its God.
Its leaders are like roaring lions
    hunting for their victims.
Its judges are like ravenous wolves at evening time,
who by dawn have left no trace of their prey.
Its prophets are arrogant liars seeking their own gain.
Its priests defile the Temple by disobeying God’s instructions.
But the Lord is still there in the city,
    and he does no wrong.
Day by day he hands down justice,
    and he does not fail.
But the wicked know no shame.
“I have wiped out many nations,
devastating their fortress walls and towers.
    Their streets are now deserted;
their cities lie in silent ruin.
    There are no survivors—
    none at all.
I thought, ‘Surely they will have reverence for me now!
Surely they will listen to my warnings.
Then I won’t need to strike again,
    destroying their homes.’
But no, they get up early
    to continue their evil deeds.
Therefore, be patient,” says the Lord.
“Soon I will stand and accuse these evil nations.
For I have decided to gather the kingdoms of the earth
and pour out my fiercest anger and fury on them.
All the earth will be devoured
by the fire of my jealousy.
“Then I will purify the speech of all people,
so that everyone can worship the Lord together.
10 My scattered people who live beyond the rivers of Ethiopia[a]
will come to present their offerings.
11 On that day you will no longer need to be ashamed,
for you will no longer be rebels against me.
I will remove all proud and arrogant people from among you.
There will be no more haughtiness on my holy mountain.
12 Those who are left will be the lowly and humble,
for it is they who trust in the name of the Lord.
13 The remnant of Israel will do no wrong;
they will never tell lies or deceive one another.
They will eat and sleep in safety,
and no one will make them afraid.”
14 Sing, O daughter of Zion;
    shout aloud, O Israel!
Be glad and rejoice with all your heart,
    O daughter of Jerusalem!
15 For the Lord will remove his hand of judgment
and will disperse the armies of your enemy.
And the Lord himself, the King of Israel,
    will live among you!
At last your troubles will be over,
and you will never again fear disaster.
16 On that day the announcement to Jerusalem will be,
“Cheer up, Zion! Don’t be afraid!
17 For the Lord your God is living among you.
    He is a mighty savior.
He will take delight in you with gladness.
With his love, he will calm all your fears.[b]
He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.”
18 “I will gather you who mourn for the appointed festivals;
you will be disgraced no more.[c]
19 And I will deal severely with all who have oppressed you.
    I will save the weak and helpless ones;
    I will bring together
    those who were chased away.
I will give glory and fame to my former exiles,
wherever they have been mocked and shamed.
20 On that day I will gather you together
    and bring you home again.
I will give you a good name, a name of distinction,
among all the nations of the earth,
as I restore your fortunes before their very eyes.
    I, the Lord, have spoken!”

My Living Bible says for verse 17: For the Lord your God has arrived to live among you. He is a mighty Saviour. He will give you victory. He will rejoice over you in great gladness; he will not accuse you." Is that a joyous choir I hear? No, it is the Lord himself exulting over you in happy song.

As a petparent, you tend to sing about your pet. I noticed my friends sing about their children. Jesus sings for his people. It shall be for His own pleasure.

Kids Count Generations - How to Parent God's Way - Part 3

This image is not linked!
This is linked:  Weekend service 1h 19 m 13 s
The title is: Kids Count Generations. 4/30/12

This sermon demonstrated how to be a good father and spiritual leader of a family. Sometimes in life, families are thrown a curve ball--something they did not expect. This sermon demonstrates the principles of how to be a modern Job, interceding for family. In particular, in the testimony given, I noted there was a pouring out of the feeling of being loved onto the daughter at the same time as the father was making progress in his spiritual life of representing his family before God.

In this sermon, Randy also teaches the congregation to tell their God story. Tell your family and your loved ones of how God has done things for you. Often, in this story, there are these elements:
  • an enslavement or problem or difficulty
  • a cry to God
  • a miracle
  • a release or answer to prayer
By telling our God story to our family, we can inspire faith in the next generation and generate a God culture in our family. When we are silent about our story, we can have off on generations as the enlightenment is not passed down. If your family culture is quiet about God, and noone talks about it, it places the only spiritual message in the Sunday message, or in missionaries. We should be talking about all the good God has done for us around the dinner table. Be thankful and share God's goodness with everyone in your family to inspire generations of faith passed down.

Verse Collections - Testimony Primers

I would like to help my readership to memorize verse collections. I think scripture memorization is a good thing. It helps us be better able to respond to people when we are challenged. It prepares us to identify beliefs which are counter to the teachings in the bible. That's why we memorize scripture. The Jewish approach to study is to read every verse in context. Only whole chapters are read.

So, I am combining Evangelical and Jewish approaches. You are starting with a verse compendium and then, to go into the holistic comprehension and meditation. The Jewish approach to study prevents evil people who use a piece to mislead people for their own personal power and manipulation. One must be ready to call on the chapter and what it means and what it is related to in the bible. For this, you would click on the context button and the whole chapter button below each verse at your desire.

These are going to be verse compendiums. That means I am taking all the relevant passages to a topic, putting them together, ordering them naturally, and teaching a collective text. The verse base to be fully understood must be read in its context and in the whole chapter and in old and new translations. The story is a bible entry primer as well, in that as readers look up the verse, they read the whole chapter, though I do suggest memorizing the whole rap set first, and later going to read and meditate on the whole chapter contexts.

It is also my goal to create testimony primers. People will not come to Christ if someone does not speak to them. People who are saved need to speak. The Bloom Where You Are Planted song and the Letter from God are both pieces of writing which are testimony primers. The raps will be intended to create testimony primers.

After each section, the person who memorized it, can insert their understanding. Some will disagree with memorizing the Old King James Bible. However, it has a poetic quality which is lost in modern and plain language translations. To rap new speak is boring and presents no new words to learn. I like the word variety of the Old King James. Afterall, it permits you to stop and explain the meanings if you use it as a primer.

My cousin who was 8 read a pamphlet about how important it is to receive salvation. She prayed the prayer. She brought the pamphlet to her 5 year old brother. She told him about the story and said there was a prayer at the back the she felt her little brother should really consider praying. Together, her little brother and her prayed the prayer. It is that simple. If a child of 8 can lead someone to the Lord, you can.

In a senior's home, I encountered someone who is really old. I stayed for a service on Sunday. I remained in there later to eat with my grandmother. In that room, which was the centre chapel, a lady sat. As I cleaned up, she went to a pamphlet sitting on a bookshelf, and she brought it to me. She told me, you should read this and pray the prayer. It it the most important thing you need to do in this life. This woman was caring for my soul. Again, you can do this.

Everyone does their little part. In the case of this blog, I am leading you to be like the main character of the Book of Eli. I am hoping the pamphlet will be you. The words of your mouth will naturally roll to testify that a Saviour came, has a good message for man, and loves all mankind, and offers a free gift to all who will acknowledge they have sinned, ask Christ for forgiveness, and ask Him in as their Lord and Saviour. It is not to have people overwhelm others with a bunch of bible verses. It is to be prepared to answer people's questions in the context of life. Perhaps listening to a rap could generate questions.

Salvation Rap in the Works

So, King James worked with the rap. I am continuing to use it.

Plan 1.

Romans 10: 9
1 John 5: 1-5
Romans 1: 16
Acts 2: 21
2 Corinthians 4: 4
2 Corintians 6: 2
1 John 4: 15
Titus 3: 5
Titus 2: 7
Matthew 20: 28
John 1: 29
Galations 1: 14
Revelations 5: 9
John 3:7
Acts 4: 12
Romans 3: 20
Romans 5:6
2 Corinthians 4: 3-4
2 Timothy 3: 15
Romans 3: 20
1 John 4: 15
John 3: 16
Romans 10: 9

Plan 2.

Matthew 11:28
John 1: 12
John 6: 29
John 7: 17
Acts 26: 20
Romans 2: 8
Romans 10: 9-10
Romans 10: 13
Galations 3: 26
Ephesians 1: 12
1 Thessalonians 1: 9
1 Thessalonians 2: 13
2 Thessalonians 1: 8
1 Timothy 4: 10
Revelations 22: 17

The next step is to type out the verses and see which set works better as a rap. I will practice both sets. I may work the order of the verses around to have a natural flow.

In the meantime, copy-paste the verses and put them in the Biblegateway widget and check them out. You will want to copy and paste the text onto a Word file for easy access.

Technique versus Prayer and Declarations

One thing we need to remember as Christians is that the gospel will not work on everyone. Some have made strongholds they are unwilling to let go. These people are self-deceived. We are to love those people, but all we do will never change them, as they have very strongly fooled themselves that they have it all figured out. They have blinders on. This means that in the end times, though some are saved, conscientiously sift out those who have hearts ready to hear the gospel of Christ. Use judgement to decide those you concentrate on. It will not be till one second after that those people are convinced and then it will be too late.

Kings and rulers of great kingdoms had it all figured out. Queen Jezebel shook her fist in the face of God and threatened the lives of God's prophets. She had it all worked out. Due to her great evil, God gave her a death the same he reserves for Satan. Her death held in it no respect.

Suppose you have one you really love who fits this category? Fast and pray. Seek the Lord yourself. Ask the Lord to reveal himself to that person or correct the lie they believe. In this, I go against the above. All we do will never change them, so we can't make the decision for them. However, we can approach the Big Guy in Heaven, and He can do things--He has the power, the authority, the wisdom, the resources, and the Holy Spirit He can send on people and change their hearts.

That's why all revival begins with prayer. We need to trust in the power of God to see change. Live your life as a testimony for those who might be in the audience and have hearts to hear. Even in a crowd of accusers, you never know who might be enlightened. We declare salvation over our loved ones or ones for whom we have concern. When we pray, God plants a little ember of revival in a person's soul. We are not to criticize that person afterward. We guard our speech, so that our prayer is held in high regard before the Lord.

King James Colossians 3

I've decided to provide this to you, but keep the other post as is.

Print this and use it with the Colossians 3 recording. So for visitors, go back one blog post and download the audio. Then you have the King James words here, and you have a modern interpretation in the last post.

I invite you to rap with me.

Self-test - One you have listened to the music a dozen or more times, then bring either the bible or the paper  you printed out to the computer and type out the words of Colossians 3. If you find that the typing runs out your fingers, because you have  gone through the song so much, then you are on your way to having it memorized. I've done it quite a bit and found the words flowed out my fingers really fast. I am off by 4 words in the rap as I listen to the music with the bible text. So, to improve once I've got this really down, I may to a new version, all correct.

Colossians 3 King  James - Renewed in Knowledge

If ye be then risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry. For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: in the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.

But now ye also put off all of these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; and have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.

Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives and be not bitter against them. Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged. Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God.

And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance; for ye serve the Lord Christ. But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done; and there is no respect of persons.

And there is no respect of persons.

And there is no respect of persons.

King James Colossians 3 Rap Audio Update

Update: Find your audio on the Donna's Songs page. (The storage provider deleted the shared folder. I had to set all the links up again.)

To assist my readership in memorizing Colossians 3, download my recording I made for you. It is in Old King James. I can't guarantee it is identical to Biblegateways.com. However, I will link to that chapter and version or as close as I can get.

Colossians 3 (Audio download script 4 minutes) (This is wrong, but I will fix it this week, and link it to the same place as the one on the Donna's Songs page.

Password key: newman1

I will update this post and type in my text from my bible. For now, I will send you to the approximation from the slightly different version from Biblegateway.com  My opinion - the Old King James kind of works for a rap.

When did I become a rapper? Today.

I recommend this file for children's memorization.

 New King James Version (NKJV)

Not Carnality but Christ

If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.
Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience, in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them.
But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, 10 and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him, 11 where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all.

Character of the New Man

12 Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. 14 But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. 15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

The Christian Home

18 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.
19 Husbands, love your wives and do not be bitter toward them.
20 Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing to the Lord.
21 Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged.
22 Bondservants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh, not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but in sincerity of heart, fearing God. 23 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for[a] you serve the Lord Christ. 25 But he who does wrong will be repaid for what he has done, and there is no partiality.

Why Were People Searching for Elijah?

Malachi 4:5

New Living Translation (NLT)
“Look, I am sending you the prophet Elijah before the great and dreadful day of the Lord arrives.

People were talking of the end times and wondering if Elijah was coming.

This is why they commented that Jesus was asking for Elijah to come rescue him from the cross.

Now, us on the other hand, we can count this is as one of the 2 prophets who will come to evangelize the world in the end times. It would be during the tribulation and before the final war.

I Have a Young Friend

I have a young friend who loved the Lord. She knew bible prophesy. In high school, she had a 90% average in Social Studies. In her class, her teacher asked the class to write an essay on if there would ever be a third world war. The girl had thought all her life the bible was true. In addition to other prophesy resources, and history resources, the girl brought in passages of the bible which had remarkable similarity to a nuclear bomb and signs that a war was coming.

The girl, in her last term, and expecting to graduate with a 90%, handed in her term paper. At this point, she did not know her teacher was an atheist. She could hedge his associations, but she did not know this for sure. Then, she got her paper back. She received 45%. It was done to the same level of excellence all her former papers had been done. On the paper, the teacher wrote, "The bible is an illegitimate source. It can't be proven. You can't use fiction to support a Social Studies paper." The girl approached her teacher with a verbal appeal, and he said, "That's what I think."

The impact on the girl was great. Her grade for the course was 74%. Her overall average was 82%.  Though she graduated, she was beaten down for believing the bible was the truth. The girl did not challenge the teacher's authority, but accepted the strong slam on her beliefs, her identity, and on her values. The paper was the last paper submitted before graduation. Her parents heard about it, but may not have understood the story. They did not advocate for the daughter. This issue was a huge damper on the joy the young girl was supposed to have at her graduation party.

This particular type of issue is dealt with in Sean McDowell's book ETHIX: Being Bold in a Whatever World.

Young people face challenges to their beliefs by their teachers at school. Though secular school is supposed to have an umbrella of acceptance for people's faith, you can see by the above story that the experience is not perfect.

Truth Embibed Into Our Identity

When we are Christians, sometimes the good pathways are not discussed for their applications to our lives and life decisions. As a younger Christian, I was frustrated that our church did not seem to have rabbis. In Judaism, there is a rabbi. The rabbi takes the knowledge in the bible and helps you understand how to appropriate beliefs of God's identity, character, and desire for relationship into how we can live holy and set apart lives. What did that look and feel like? How should I respond in the face of challenges? How should I respond to non-Christian attitudes and actions towards me?

In particular, there were not good ties to how to live, how to date, how to do business, how to marry, and how to get along in the family. There was worship and good bible instruction and theory, but the link into action and home behaviour was not strong enough. I always wanted a rabbi, the kind they talked about in the bible. I wanted the kind that could put shoes on Christianity, so you could walk like a good pilgrim on righteous pathways.

So, my dear readership, I have a couple resources for you. I have one for adults and one for youth.

  1. For adults, and I admit this is still in the realm of good philosophical discussion, that an adult will bite into, I suggest the book The Reason for God: Belief in an Age of Skepticism. The author is Tim Keller.
  2. For your youth, or for readership who is younger, I suggest Being Bold in a Whatever World: Ethix. This book was written by Sean McDowell. This is good for both youth girls and boys.

Adults can also read the second book. Both fall into lines of argumentation and assist the reader to identify what they believe, why they believe, and to challenge or figure out how an unbelief or something we think is a belief falls into relativism. If you find you enjoy these books, both authors have a selection of other books which may appeal to you.

When you know what you believe, then I challenge readers to find the related scriptures and memorize them as truths to hold onto. This ensures you'll stand in the face of future challenges to those beliefs. I believe that all Christians who affirm their faith in Christ all face lies told to them by the enemy at a few points in their walk. Satan says, "Your loving God would not do this. You think there really is a God? Huh. You're stupid. If there was a God who really loved you, he would never let this happen."

The soul who listens embraces some false belief about God, and then expecting less from God, won't go to Him when they are in trouble and then Satan can get an upper hand.

When we have the right beliefs about God, we can continually close the hedge of protection keeping Satan sulking outside the door. All he can do is be sad for your joy and success in the Lord.

So, there are other books, but these ones will begin building you up.

I have a friend who is publishing a book for boys. I am excited he is releasing the book soon. He is working on a book similar to Sean McDowell's and is about training boys to be future business leaders, teaching them how to embibe God's business principles into their soul, and how to take charge of their own destiny, accomplishing their best for God all the time. He is training tomorrow's leaders. I can't wait to one day share the news.

One Last Thing: There was a Truth Matters tour. It's over today. Sean, the writer above, who is a teacher, comes and presents a lesson on Christian Ethix for youth. He is accompanied by two of the leading Christian rock vocalists. Truth Matters presents a great night for youth to strongly identify with Christ. I highly recommend it. I went last Sunday in Calgary. The Christian band had all the lyrics up. All the music was praise. I sang for a really long time. The Christian band offers a How to Sing DVD, which is cool. Please check out the Truth Matters events in your city. This is another opportunity to be built up in the Lord.  Okay, so I was recommending this, but watch the organization for a future tour. The link above has been redirected to the organizations that put together the tour. Here is Sean McDowell's link.

Scientists, Sean also has a book on Creation as Intelligent Design.

Music Meditation: As I listened and experienced the music, I thought this is what it might have been like in the Archean Age. We know Lucifer was a great musician and organ player. He probably had the best keyboard ever. I would not doubt that some of these music styles were played then too. So, this tour takes the rock music engine and repurposes it to praise God. There is no self-edification or artist praise. It is an absolutely pure experience. You cannot help leaving uplifted. All the lyrics are good doctrine. I bought a few albums to bring the music home. The singing and music are used as a worship session.

Satan the King of Babylon - His Outcome

First of all, in Hell kings and ordinary men are treated the same according to Ezekial 32: 24

I am recounting here Satan's story. Satan is also called "a shining star - son of the morning" as at one point, he was a worship leader on one of God's temple sites.

Isaiah 14: 1-23  Biblegateway.com

Dear reader, I am reordering the story. So, to reach Chapter 14 the normal way, it is available above.

Isaiah 14
New Living Translation (NLT)

A Taunt for Babylon’s King

22 This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says:
“I, myself, have risen against Babylon!
I will destroy its children and its children’s children,”
    says the Lord.
23 “I will make Babylon a desolate place of owls,
    filled with swamps and marshes.
I will sweep the land with the broom of destruction.
I, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, have spoken!”

In that wonderful day when the Lord gives his people rest
from sorrow and fear, from slavery and chains, you will taunt the king of Babylon.

You will say,
“The mighty man has been destroyed.
    Yes, your insolence[b] is ended.
For the Lord has crushed your wicked power
    and broken your evil rule.
You struck the people with endless blows of rage
and held the nations in your angry grip
    with unrelenting tyranny.

But finally the earth is at rest and quiet.
    Now it can sing again!
Even the trees of the forest—
the cypress trees and the cedars of Lebanon—
    sing out this joyous song:
‘Since you have been cut down,
no one will come now to cut us down!’
“In the place of the dead[c] there is excitement
    over your arrival.
The spirits of world leaders and mighty kings long dead
    stand up to see you.
10 With one voice they all cry out,
‘Now you are as weak as we are!
11 Your might and power were buried with you.[d]
The sound of the harp in your palace has ceased.
Now maggots are your sheet,
    and worms your blanket.’
12 “How you are fallen from heaven,
O shining star, son of the morning!
You have been thrown down to the earth,
you who destroyed the nations of the world.

13 For you said to yourself,
‘I will ascend to heaven and set my throne above God’s stars.
I will preside on the mountain of the gods
    far away in the north.[e]
14 I will climb to the highest heavens
and be like the Most High.’
15 Instead, you will be brought down to the place of the dead,
    down to its lowest depths.

16 Everyone there will stare at you and ask,
‘Can this be the one who shook the earth
and made the kingdoms of the world tremble?
17 Is this the one who destroyed the world
and made it into a wasteland?
Is this the king who demolished the world’s greatest cities
and had no mercy on his prisoners?’
18 “The kings of the nations lie in stately glory,
    each in his own tomb,
19 but you will be thrown out of your grave
    like a worthless branch.
Like a corpse trampled underfoot,
you will be dumped into a mass grave
    with those killed in battle.
You will descend to the pit.20
You will not be given a proper burial,
for you have destroyed your nation
    and slaughtered your people.
The descendants of such an evil person
    will never again receive honor.
21 Kill this man’s children!
Let them die because of their father’s sins!
They must not rise and conquer the earth,
filling the world with their cities.”

14 Verse 1 But the Lord will have mercy on the descendants of Jacob. He will choose Israel as his special people once again. He will bring them back to settle once again in their own land. And people from many different nations will come and join them there and unite with the people of Israel.[a] The nations of the world will help the Lord’s people to return, and those who come to live in their land will serve them. Those who captured Israel will themselves be captured, and Israel will rule over its enemies.

Interpretation: I have a slightly different version. My verse 9-11 are this:
The denizens of hell crowd to meet you as you enter their domain. World leaders and earth's mightiest kings, long dead, are there to see you. With one voice they all cry out, "Now you are as weak as we are!" Your might and power are gone; they are buried with you. All the pleasant music in your palace has ceased; now maggots are your sheet, worms your blanket!
So, when Jesus conquers Lucifer/Satan in the Battle of Armageddon or the War of Tribulation, I think it is worth mentioning that this event takes away some of Satan's power to torture all the people in Hell. In Hell, to the time of Jesus coming to meet him in war, Satan forces all people to worship him - he plays the music that people have to sing to. If they don't, he brings them out and tortures them more than normal. What we have here is a turning of the tides in Hell. Satan falls back into Hell with the body of can I say man?...His body is taken over by the same feature he inflicted on humanity in Hell. He too is then weak and has worms and maggots in him. He may then be unable to carry on in his usual manner of ruling Hell.

It's kind of interesting. When Satan comes back to Hell, he can't make the music to force people to praise him. If ever there was a time for people in Hell to shout praises to God, that would be the time. Perhaps many of the extreme tortures in Hell would stop. The people in Hell gain some relief from the victory of Christ. Christ relieves them of their torturer.

I see evidence in Isaiah of the Son of Satan taking over. Verse 21 talks of this. The snake is replaced with an adder. In the last round of affliction of man, it may be the Son of Satan who carries on. I have no idea what the implications would be. Satan's children in Hell carry on trying to dissuade man from God.

Praise God - He Found My Bunny Costume

When I was 8, I wanted to go out for Hallowe'en. My costume had not been used since the year before. When it was time to begin preparing a day or two before, I realized I could not find my white bunny costume.

As an 8 year old, I addressed this in prayer before God. I asked him to help bring me my bunny costume. Within two hours, somehow, and I don't know how, I just found it. I had looked all over. I had drawn on all my resources. Then, I brought my problem to God the Father, and He gave me my costume. I was so happy. So, for that happy day, praise God.

Since then, and life has been long, I've always trusted such problems to the Lord. He is control of the lost items list and in particular, when it is of importance. Both my husband and I trust God in such circumstances. I told my husband of this phenomenon I had experienced over and over, and God came through and showed my husband that He does this. So, we pray together for the lost items.

I consider the loss of an item a no fault circumstance. I do my best searching and then I pray. This is something you can do the next time you lose something. In this little organizational aid, you can see God and how He loves you. Just ask Him to assist you in finding whatever you have lost.

God knows we are not perfect. He will help us in our human frailties.

At this time in my life, I was reading the Lady Bug books about princess characters and girls like Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella. I was very much in love with the pictures and the colors of the artists who developed these books. I encountered characters like the fairy god mother and the good witch. God my Father used the circumstance above to claim his role as my fairy god mother. He did things to assist me when I encountered difficulties. When I had problems, He wanted me to bring my problems directly to His throne for their resolution. So, rather than relating to the good witches or fairy god mothers in the stories, I would always say to myself, my God could do that for me if he wanted to.

He did. He took care of my wedding and let me be Cinderella for a wonderful day meeting her loving and charming prince. He did everything.

Destroying the Family - Satan's Agenda

To quote a friend of mine who played with a Ouiji Board when she was young, and she asked it if had any message for her, she said it spelled out, "I am going to kill all mankind." As a child, it made her very afraid.

I do not use the Ouiji Board. It is an onslaught against children early, as children at school will have played with them. Elementary school children I went to school with invited me to participate. I said no.

If a parent finds out their child has been involved in this game, pray for the child on your own and with them using Neil T. Anderson resources. There is a  prayer that leads the child through a prayer of confession and eliminates the enemy influence and closes negative spiritual doors. There are guides made specifically for youth.

Why does this happen? Satan wants an entry point into the family dynamic. He wants to step in and twist the relationships. He will do so from any angle of access he can get. He will try to enter into the life influence of at least one person in the family.

Here is Neil T. Anderson's Amazon Author page with all the books he has written. If your family has somehow fallen into a crumbling status, this is the start of the way out. Begin by praying against the forces which are trying to destroy it. Parents, and fathers specifically, you have spiritual authority over your household, so even if your children do not pray, your prayer, like that of a priest representing a whole nation, can cover your family.

If Satan can get a father off track, he's eliminated the spiritual representative in the home. That's pretty important to note. Yes, your children might still be who they are, but you will notice a spiritual shifting. You will get better guidance. This is shown in the scripture of Mark below.

Women, you must respect your husband. You must not criticize him to your children. You must not curse him. You must fall in with his authority. Even if you make a promise to someone, your husband has the right to cancel it. It's in the bible somewhere. You can find it by doing a themed search on husbands or wives. Criticizing the man destroys children's identity. By criticizing her man (husband and father to her children), a woman tears down her own house. The woman is not the head of the house. The man is. Your husband and father is the CEO of your family unit. This is shown in the scripture of Mark below. Husbands, if you have a rebellious wife, pray for her. Ask the Lord to step in and change her. As you are the spiritual head and you have a God-given role, you have the right to address Him regarding your family.

Scripture Mark 3:23-29 Biblegateway.com

Today's New International Version (TNIV) Bold mine.
23 So Jesus called them over to him and began to speak to them in parables: “How can Satan drive out Satan? 24 If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25 If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. 26 And if Satan opposes himself and is divided, he cannot stand; his end has come. 27 In fact, no one can enter a strong man’s house without first tying him up. Then he can plunder the strong man’s house. 28 Truly I tell you, people will be forgiven all their sins and all the blasphemies they utter. 29 But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven, but is guilty of an eternal sin.”
----------------------------

The husband and father is to be a modern type of Job. Why did Job get hassled? He was a really good person (a RGP) and an especially good family representative to God the Father. Job acted as a priest and offered sacrifices, worship, and prayers for his family. Though today, we may have a different system, the majority of the role remains. If Satan can get a father off track, he's eliminated the spiritual representative in the home. This is why Satan attack's men at their weakest point - their eyes.

Every Christian family has the potential to be like Job's family. What I recall about Job was he controlled his eyes. He left no access point of entry for Satan. He had unique consideration for women for the time in history.

(Repetition is intended.)

Scripture:
Job 1:1-5 Biblegateway.com
Today's New International Version (TNIV)

Prologue Bold Mine

1 In the land of Uz there lived a man whose name was Job. This man was blameless and upright; he feared God and shunned evil. 2 He had seven sons and three daughters, 3 and he owned seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen and five hundred donkeys, and had a large number of servants. He was the greatest man among all the people of the East.
4 His sons used to hold feasts in their homes on their birthdays, and they would invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them. 5 When a period of feasting had run its course, Job would make arrangements for them to be purified. Early in the morning he would sacrifice a burnt offering for each of them, thinking, “Perhaps my children have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.” This was Job’s regular custom.

----------------------------

What can be learned from the above is even casual curses which implicate God need to be amended for. In French Canadian culture, all the curses against the church body are curses against God and the Bride - the body of Christ.  Culturally, though a cliché, casual words need to be confessed. In English, we have many such words - for example, using the word "bloody" which is again a curse against God or the life blood Christ provides us - we are cursing ourselves. Till we are people of trained speech, and able to control this, it is a basic sin that creeps in unawares. This is why it is wonderful that Job did this custom above. He kept covering his whole family with God's protection.

Reading Assignment:  I recommend reading the whole chapter, and if you have the time to be an ardent reader, the whole book. It is some 40 chapters or so. This is a Sabbath project. I like how Job treats his daughters in the matters of inheritance - near the end.

Letter From God - God the Father

Donna's comment: This is well done. It has a good beat. It has cinematic qualities.

Kids Count Generations - How to Parent God's Way

This image is not linked!
This is linked:  Weekend service 1h 27 m
The title is: Kids Count Generations. 4/23/12

Keep working on memorizing Colossians 3. I am. I've read the cats, including Maggie, the chapter 3 times.

I sang it as a song 6 times. It's coming. My husband's heard it a few times. I read him the book. I have a downloadable recording of Colossians 3 for those who are trying to memorize it.
Quick points: As God's parent, we do not control our children. We lead them and teach them.

A great highlight: If you can see the text, the drama including the cards between a husband and wife were priceless. Enlarge the video to see it full screen. Later, in the service, the songs were great meditations.

By the way: Pastor Scott has a daily parenting devotional taped beside the service. If you need help parenting, do this daily parenting devotional. I do not see the time, but I am guessing it is about 10 minutes each. If you are missing my posts, go here for now. This is good stuff for you. Favorite the page, so you can go back daily for a new devotional.

Extension Resources: Fred Jones Parenting Course

Parents, I highly highly highly recommend this resource. Tools for Teaching Parent Edition English and Spanish 10 hour course DVD on parenting. It is $100 and worth every penny. It is research based and developed in a community of practice and reflection - which is what narrative inquiry is all about. People look back to stories of their success, how they arrived there, and share it with others.

I have the resource for teachers. I peer mentored my teacher friends. This was a highly valuable resource in coming forward in the art of discipline and as a teacher  or as a parent dealing with the personal connection aspects of being the authority figure and doing the right thing for leading your child to the right way through to positive choices.

The teacher version of the course, around $1200 for books for a class and the DVD - is an excellent teacher training series and includes again all the tools to bring your teachers forward to be better teachers.

I made a PowerPoint on this resource. If you come back here, I will load it after I call and get permission.

How I see these resources being best implemented is if one could get permission from the company, and load the lessons into boxes online, and then organize flexible learning groups around non-geographic limits. Then, one mentor could help out a whole group and the group could learn from each other, as they practice the principles and share stories of what works. The Fred Jones organization does not recommend more than 5 in a group - for teacher-learners. In the case of parents, I would recommend 5 sets of parents.

If my reader is a representative of an organization, society, or non-profit - consider buying the kit and using it as the basis of small group sessions. Consider asking Fred Jones if he has a learning guide or class instruction manual. He may.

This course will: increase the peace and enthusiasm in your home.
  • Parents will feel successful.
  • Children will be successful and happy.
  • The course teaches parents how to help their children perform well in school.
Conferences to learn this art and share it with others - they are really cheap!

If I had kids, I would give them Essential Fatty Acids or Fish Oils every day to help their learning. I would be giving them a Learning Shake every morning - to meet the nutritional needs of developing memory and enhancing brain function. This above resource, in the secondary function of teaching behaviour to enhance learning, is a second manner of attack at growing good kids.

Bloom Where You are Planted

I have a friend who I love named Dilys . She is married to Peter. Dilys loves the Lord. She has a quilt in her room of a plant blooming and the saying of the song above. It is the title. Even though Dilys is in a senior's home, she knows that where she is, God will use her to make a difference in her community.

Dilys and Peter attended church in Trail, B.C. At Dilys's church, where they attended a set of confirmation classes. There Father Pat taught her about confession of sins.

She prayed in that class, "Tonight, change me." A flood of love flowed into her from the Lord. The Lord spoke to her, "I can handle that for you." Even though Dilys had attended church for a long time, she had not encountered this teaching. When Dilys confessed her sins to God, she found freedom. The policy on confession was said to be, "All may--none must--some should. Only you know whether you should." The priest said, "For those reluctant to come, I leave you to gather your thoughts." Dilys sat sideways. After she prayed the prayer, she realized, "God loves me. God forgave me." She felt good walking out of the church. "Good" means she felt, "I could sing or dance or fly as I walked to my car."

Dilys had a bubble of excitement about her. She neither told Peter nor her family. She accepted the Lord in November. Then, in preparation of Lent prior to Easter, she found out something that made her joyous. She was visiting with Peter. They were sitting and looking at each other and talking. Peter said, "Going to your first confession is really hard." Dilys replied, "Sure is." Dilys wondered if Father Pat had said something about her confession to Peter for a moment, that he had told on her to Peter. She said, "I was quite sure there had been a stick in the woods." After a moment of confusion, Dilys and Peter recognized the Lord had saved both of them within 2 weeks of each other.

Peter and Dilys laughed together with joy. She said, "God had cleaned our decks to be useful in ministry." It was a wonderful thing God brought both to relationship with Himself in such a short time.

In addition to this salvation experience, God laid a scripture from the Jerusalem Bible into Dilys's heart. It was Ephesians 2:10. What this scripture said to her about her relationship to God was this: You are God's work of art. I'm God's work of art.

Ephesians 2:10

New International Version (NIV)
10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Dilys's response to this declaration of God's love for her was to say this: Thank you Lord for creating me unique and beautiful to do the things you've got for me to do, created new in God's love in Christ Jesus. She had an infilling of the Holy Spirit.

In the 1970's, a Catholic priest composed a song - Bloom Where You Are Planted.  His name is Carey Landry. He sang it at a Diosan conference in Penticton. Dilys heard him sing the song at this conference.

Dilys was called to speak at engagements from 1977 to 2004--not all the time though.

She and Peter ran a spiritual retreat centre like the King's Fold known to us in Alberta.

At one of Dilys's speaking engagements, she framed her speech around the "Letter From God" which you can find versions of on youtube.

As she read that letter, she stopped and showed her understanding of that letter and how it applied to her personal life. She returned to her prayer, "Jesus, change me." That was when she fully realized how much God loved her.

The Letter from God and the song above are good primers to get people to reflect on where they are at and as a means of getting them to share their story and how God is working in and through them. The analogy in the song is that the bride of Christ is a whole garden of flowers. Is it the garden of lilies? Or does each people group have their own distinct flower? I often think of humanity as a wonderful range of flowers, with each race as a beautiful and unique flower variety. When you think of Louis the 14ths gardens, that was his pride. Humanity is God's pride as He tends us and brings us forward into the light.

What is Your Name?

Names are key identity features we each have.

If you know what your name means, do you live up to it?       I do. I try to place the meaning of the name I wear around me like a shroud.

God gave eternal names with prophetic meanings to his people so they would look to God. Some of those names were not beautiful, but meaningful to direct people in paths to Him.

I think that God can use your name and when you live up to that name, you are a source of blessing to others.

What is your name?        My name is Donna. It means "lady". In the word, "Madonna", it means "my lady" referring to the mother of Christ.

In one case, there was a guy named Jabez. He got a name from his mother which was not nice. He appealed to God. God gave him a life which was in fact the opposite of the name he was given. God takes pity on those who are given names with unkind meanings in them. He makes them more.  There is a book about this man's challenge. The book is called, The Prayer of Jabez.

There is a verse in the bible. A good name is to be desired more than riches or gold. It is from the Proverbs. I memorized this verse when I was 6 or thereabout. I lived my life according to it. From childhood, everything I did was keeping with the thought that I would one day account to God the Father, and I wanted to have a good name before Him.

Proverbs 22:1

Today's New International Version (TNIV)

Proverbs 22

 1 A good name is more desirable than great riches;
to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.

If you serve God, and your name does not quite suit you, he will give you a new name. God changed Isaac's name to Israel. If it serves His purpose to have you keep the one you have, for by it you are known to others, he will have you keep it for His glory.

Worry more that your name is on right standing with God than what it means to others, or even what others say about you. We want our name inscribed in the Book of Life.

Do you know the book of Deuteronomy is full of names? Why is that huge list of names important? When we get to heaven, we will know most of the people who are in that list of names. Many of them are already in the book of life. When I look at my family tree, I try to hope with a spiritual hope, that I will see most of those names recorded in heaven which appear before me.

You know how all the war heroes who have died have had their names inscribed in a book in Ottawa where they are remembered. I can't help but think, that even in a second world, there will be a record somewhere of every name of every lost soul who fell to hell in time before and that once a year, just like with Remembrance Day, all man everywhere will stand in silent remembrance and loving honour of all the man (family, friends, work acquaintances) God loved, but lost through time, circumstance, and lack of knowledge. Every man is precious to God. Even the lost lambs.

One more thing. When Jacob was renamed Israel, God also gave him a body mark. He gave him a damaged hip. Why did He do that? If you love God, He will give you a trait that is unusual, that you will have to live with, that you will identify with, that marks your narrative, and that when you see God, that piece of you which is a puzzle will all make sense.

Scripture Assignment: Do a search of "Isaac" and "Jacob" in the bible on biblegateway.

I did a search for Isaac in Biblegateway. That's because I first thought it was Isaac, not Jacob, who struggled with the angel of the Lord. The bold is mine.
  1. Genesis 26:24
The Lord showed Himself to Isaac that same night, and said, “I am the God of your father Abraham. Do not be afraid, for I am with you. I will bring good to you, and add many to the number of your children and their children’s children, because of My servant Abraham.”
Genesis 26:23-25 (in Context) Genesis 26 (Whole Chapter)
  2. Genesis 26:25
So Isaac built an altar there. And he called upon the name of the Lord. He put up his tent there. And there Isaac’s servants dug a well.
Genesis 26:24-26 (in Context) Genesis 26 (Whole Chapter)
  3. Genesis 28:12
12 He had a dream in which he saw a stairway[a] resting on the earth, with its top reaching to heaven, and the angels of God were ascending and descending on it. Footnotes:  Genesis 28:12 Or ladder

  4. Genesis 32 Jacob Wrestles With God

22 That night Jacob got up and took his two wives, his two female servants and his eleven sons and crossed the ford of the Jabbok. 23 After he had sent them across the stream, he sent over all his possessions. 24 So Jacob was left alone, and a man wrestled with him till daybreak. 25 When the man saw that he could not overpower him, he touched the socket of Jacob’s hip so that his hip was wrenched as he wrestled with the man. 26 Then the man said, “Let me go, for it is daybreak.”    But Jacob replied, “I will not let you go unless you bless me.”
27 The man asked him, “What is your name?”
       “Jacob,” he answered.
28 Then the man said, “Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel,[f] because you have struggled with God and with human beings and have overcome.”
29 Jacob said, “Please tell me your name.”
But he replied, “Why do you ask my name?” Then he blessed him there.
30 So Jacob called the place Peniel,[g] saying, “It is because I saw God face to face, and yet my life was spared.”
31 The sun rose above him as he passed Peniel,[h] and he was limping because of his hip. 32 Therefore to this day the Israelites do not eat the tendon attached to the socket of the hip, because the socket of Jacob’s hip was touched near the tendon.
  5.  Kings 18: 30-31 NIV  30 Then Elijah said to all the people, “Come near to me.” So all the people came near to him. And he built again the altar of the Lord which had been torn down. 31 Then Elijah took twelve stones, by the number of the families of Jacob’s sons. The word of the Lord had come to Jacob’s sons, saying, “Israel will be your name.”
  6. Matthew 8:11
I say to you, many people will come from the east and from the west. They will sit down with Abraham and with Isaac and with Jacob in the holy nation of heaven.
Matthew 8:10-12 (in Context) Matthew 8 (Whole Chapter)
  7. Galatians 4:28
Christian brothers, we are like Isaac. We are the children God promised.
Galatians 4:27-29 (in Context) Galatians 4 (Whole Chapter)
  8. Hebrews 11:9
His faith in God kept him living as a stranger in the country God had promised to him. Isaac and Jacob had received the same promise. They all lived in tents together.
Hebrews 11:8-10 (in Context) Hebrews 11 (Whole Chapter)
  9. Hebrews 11:17
Because Abraham had faith, when he was tested, he gave his son Isaac as a gift on the altar in worship. God had made a promise to Abraham that He would give him a son. And yet Abraham was willing to give his only son as a gift on the altar in worship.

What I've learned so far, is:

  • Isaac became a well builder. He survived famine.
  • God called the sons of Jacob Israel.
  • Jacab saw the stairway to heaven with angels going up and down. So, Jacob was the one who received the name.
  • God chose to bless the descendents of Isaac, not the other children of Abraham.
  • Abraham's faith was his belief that God the Father could raise his son Isaac from the dead.
  • The famous song Stairway to Heaven - what heaven did it refer to? Somehow, I don't think it is Isaac's stairway to Heaven, but the one built before the flood by the people of Babylon - a tower to heaven. I recall in my teens that this concept was a drug analogy. If you took drugs, you were promised a stairway to heaven. This is a false promise, thought the melody is beautiful and even some of the words are beautiful. Anyone who wants to encounter a real Stairway to Heaven, check out Jesus.
  • The struggle through the night reminds me of my cats - and how they play during the night.

What I know is that in the lineage of good men, each of them had special gifts and unusual traits. They had a personality trait, a physical trait, a gift, or something about them which was evidence they were unusual. That trait and the series of traits which you find in men who served God and their family lineage down - is a series of clues to man about God's identity - if you can pin down the trait which was special about that man in his story, then ask yourself, "How is that trait a revelation of God?" This is a rubic's cube set of analysis that leads to knowing God better.

Please do not be worried if your name has gathered tarnish, as God cleans our name plate off when we belong to him.

Now, keeping a good name before man is a different thing. Satan, the accuser and his servants stand to work through people to destroy us. Just recall that all who do this bear the future judgement of Christ. We do not want our human accusers to receive punishment; we want them freed from the influences of the enemy who does work through their members. Satan's goals are to destroy us from achieving the tasks God has laid before us to do. He wants to discourage us, beat us down, make us fear, and limit our mind to a much smaller view of the possibilities of hope and achievement God the Father has planned for us. For these matters, seek prayer and pray.

Realistically, man is not our enemy. We want as much of man with us in heaven as possible. Satan, the accuser and reviler of all, and his demons are the enemy. We do not want men to fall.

Why am I thinking about names? I just had to vote. It is sort of a reckoning of names on a list.  Voting is a mark of being a citizen of this country.

Where have all the good men gone? To heaven where all their names are written in the records that they are citizens. We will see them again.
